In Lady Troubles, the box set featuring a straight woman and the transwerewolf she falls for, the two main characters have a debate about misappropriation of culture. Sonya, the human, argues that her black musical rootsaren’t for anyone else to sing. Maxine, whose trans brothers and sisters have been abused and degraded in the past, believes that shared music symbolizes shared pain. Where do you stand on this Great Divide? Today’s song is from “Hairspray” and talks about the pride and determination that a community has. Disclaimer: I don’t get any money from this, only joy of sharing music.
